The KEEP+ programme provides small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) with matched funding to access academic expertise, supporting the development of new products and services in your business. This Knowledge Exchange scheme offers different routes for you to best benefit from a collaboration with our University and excellent graduate talent, to achieve your future innovation goals:
Knowledge Exchange Embed Partnerships (KEEPs): a three-way collaboration between a university specialist, the company and a graduate employed by the University who will work with the business to achieve agreed goals.
Research and Innovation Collaborations (RICs): a collaborative research and development activity for projects requiring more feasibility work prior to commercialisation.
Costs and eligibility
The KEEP+ Programme is a match funded activity, with part of the cost of each activity being met by the European Regional Development Fund and part by the beneficiary SME. SME match funding contributions are generally 50% for revenue costs and 70% for capital costs.
To qualify for KEEP+ funding, your company needs to meet the European requirement for an SME. This includes:
- being an enterprise, engaged in economic activity.
- employing fewer than 250 employees.
- an annual turnover of less than €50m.
- owned by no more than 25% by another company.
